LITERARY CRUISE ON RIVER WEAVER

This is now SOLD OUT. Information for people already booked:

We are very much looking forward to welcoming you on the Weaver Words Literary Cruise on Wednesday 3 May.

We just wanted to make you aware that unfortunately the road between Barnton/Northwich and Anderton is still blocked due to long term roadworks at Soot Hill. Therefore, it is important to approach Anderton Boat Lift from the north, through the villages of Comberbach and Marbury.

From M56 Junction 10, ignore SatNav instructions to take the A49 south. Take the A559 south towards Northwich for about three miles. Then take a right turn to Comberbach and Marbury Country Park. Follow the brown Anderton Boat Lift tourist signs. There is a pay and display car park next to the lift.

The boat trip leaves at 2pm but we suggest allowing plenty of time, just in case!

The Anderton Boat Lift Centre has a café, shop and free visitor displays and grounds, so there is plenty to enjoy if you arrive early. The boat trip will last for about an hour.

Waterways poetry on a relaxing boat trip along the River Weaver and up the historic Anderton Boat Lift

Wednesday 3 May: 1.45pm for 2.00pm depart.

Enjoy a fabulous boat trip through the stunning Victorian Anderton Boat Lift and along the River Weaver while listening to inspirational waterways poems and readings.

Cheshire poet Lynn Pegler and friends will entertain you with new poems and much-loved classics bringing to life the sights and sounds of the river and Cheshire’s famous boat lift, known as the Cathedral of the Canals.

Why not combine the experience of on-board poetry with lunch or a cream tea in the Anderton Boat Lift café. And make sure you leave time to explore the fascinating free visitor centre exhibition.
